Once again, I took inspiration from old family portraits. This one is a bit unusual. Towering over an old family cemetery in Texas was a statue known as “Our Lady of Sorrow”.¬† The cemetery looked upon White Rock Lake in Dallas – where the family farm and estate once stood. Over the years due to threats of vandalism, the statue ended up in the care of a relation in San Antonio. This is a sort of abstract depiction of the statue resting over the shores of White Rock Lake. Sorry about the photographs. The piece was extraordinarily difficult to photograph. Enjoy.
