David, Illustration Fridays

Illustration Friday is a weekly illustration challenge. They post a topic every Friday and then participants have all week to come up with their own interpretation. Normally, I’m more of an observer who has not the will , patience, or creativity to participate. That and I don’t think of myself as a illustrator. This week, I decided to challenge myself and dive in.

The topic?

Fearlessly:  “The fearless are merely fearless. People who act in spite of their fear are truly brave.” ~Unknown

My first thought was “warrior”. And what better warrior than the iconic David (of the David & Goliath)?  I suppose this is my modern, secularized, digital reinterpretation. A weekday warrior? A man nervous by the planes behind him? Someone who is simply wearing too much plaid & awkwardly won’t make eye-contact? You decide:
